Latonia Study Strategic Action Committee

The Latonia Small Area Study was adopted by the City of Covington in 2011 after a thorough process.

The Latonia Study Strategic Action Committee is a group of stakeholders that was formed to continually review the Latonia Small Area Study (SAS) document and attempt to move forward initiatives and elements of the study as are achievable at any time through the partnerships with all Latonia organizations, residents, businesses, the City of Covington, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and other community and economic development partners, along with assistance from the Center for Great Neighborhoods.

This group continues to meet monthly at the Latonia Community Partners office at 3705 Winston Avenue on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm. All are welcome to attend.

The next meeting is Thursday, September 13 at 5:30 pm.  Hope to see you there!
Here are the notes from the August meeting: August Notes 2018;
Here is some follow-up and info since the August meeting:
1. LinkGIS: Chris Schneider sent over the attached tutorial [LinkGIS Tutorial from PDS 9-2018] on LinkGIS which outlines how to find service information for each property. Please direct any questions to him at cschneider@pdskc.org
2. Signage inconsistencies:
a. PDS is working on the best way to condense their street sign data for Latonia into a usable format (it is apparently very large).
b. The SAS decided to photograph signage inconsistencies and discuss priority areas/signs that need to be updated. If you know of an area in Latonia with inconsistent, extraneous, or unsightly signage, please take a photo and send them to cgnlovesthecov@gmail.com with a brief description.

REMEMBER that September 12 is the Barb Cook Park Neighborhood Picnic!  Come for free food, games, and activities, and to share your ideas for the park! Can’t make the event? You can also fill out an online survey at www.barbcookpark.com or by texting BARBCOOK to 555888.
